During the month of February, LAM will hold a Kinky Comic Drive, seeking donations of comics/graphic novels for the archival collections. Comics/graphic novels should be fetish/erotica/kink-related or LGBTQIA/queer/non-queer-related books that deal with gender/sex/sexual identity in a way that is more than just "boy meets boy" or "girl falls in love with girl."
For the Kinky Comic Drive, the LAM will post the lists in our Amazon wish list and on this web page so that donors can purchase items through their local comic book stores and bookstores if they prefer. Individuals who donate an item from our wish list will receive an entry into a raffle for a gift basket filled with comic book/graphic novels and museum merchandise to be given away at the end of the month. (One entry per donation) Raffle winner will be announced Sunday, March 1st The prize can be picked up at the LAM or shipped to the winner.
The LA&M sees thousands of visitors each year at our facilities dedicated to making leather, kink, BDSM, and fetish accessible through research, preservation, education and community engagement. The library at the LA&M is non-lending, but anytime the museum is open - Wednesdays through Sundays - patrons who wish to read or research in our library may do so free of charge. The museum also offers free admission every Thursday throughout the year.
If you are donating an item form the list, please email Adam Hart to confirm and to receive a donation form once the items are received. LAM is a nonprofit so any donations are tax-deductible in accordance with the law. This will allow us to mark the title on the list as fulfilled. If you are purchasing items from our Amazon wish list, please send us a separate note with your purchase and contact information. If you have any questions about the titles or a question regarding a potential comic book/graphic novel not listed, please email Adam.
As part of the Kinky Comic Drive LAM will also host an after-hours fetish superhero event on Friday, February 28th, 6-9pm, during C2E2 taking place that same weekend in Chicago. We'll also be offering free admission that weekend, February 28th - March 1st , to anyone showing their C2E2 badge or wearing a superhero/cosplay outfit. Admission to the fetish superhero event is free and open to anyone 21 and over. Beer, wine, and soda/water will be available. Revolution Brewing is a donor for this after-hours event, and superhero/cosplay attire is highly encouraged.
